Local Reviews: We love our downtown visitors, and they love Downtown Ocala!

We fully appreciate all of our visitors to Downtown Ocala! Downtown Ocala is your one stop, one-of-a kind destination experience. The downtown restaurants, events on the square and night life venues cater to all ages!

“I absolutely LOVE the Downtown Concerts!”

“So far we have seen Sister Hazel, Tonic, Blue Öyster Cult, Eddie Money and many more concerts this past year and all of them have been off the charts! Citizen’s Circle is easy to get to, easy to navigate and it’s kid-friendly which means my 5-year-old daughter gets to see the singers live after we eat her favorite pizza at Pi On Broadway! We have also had several charity events, such as Craftoberfest with Pi On Broadway, “Love is in the Air” with Fat Cats Artistry and “Glam for Good” with Planet Cosmo, that benefited the Ocala Outreach Foundation, Inc., and all of them were a success! Simply AWESOME!”
– Tommy Thomas (Ocala Outreach Foundation, Inc.)

Downtown Ocala acts as a hub for local artists, eclectic boutiques, pop-up markets and festivals, fine cuisine and so much more. Downtown, you can feel the pulse of Ocala and get wrapped up in the energy of small business, live music and the culture of our diverse city. This is an expanding area that provides substance and opportunities for families, couples and small business. It’s where many of my most fond memories were made as a child and where I will now create memories with my family.
I am very impressed by the success the city has had in reinvigorating the downtown square. They have formulated what seems like just the right amount of family and adult entertainment in one place. Whether it be giant water slides and kid zones or major movie pemieres and head lining bands. They have done what most cities fail to do, and listened to the needs and wants of the people, and it has paid off in a big way! Business has never been better and we owe that in part to the great developmental efforts of the city of Ocala! Keep up the great work!
Brian Purdy, Fat Kats Atristry
Downtown Ocala has taken on an energy and attitude all its own in the past few years. From such family friendly activities as the splash pad and the farmers market, to cultural events like the Downtown Summer Jams and the First Friday Art Walk, there is always something going on downtown that’s worth checking out.
“The City of Ocala and Feel Downtown are continually bringing fresh ideas to our historic downtown area. As the operator of a business located downtown on Fort King Street for 19 years, I have greatly enjoyed the concert series, special events, family-friendly atmosphere, diverse local businesses and general Feel of our Downtown; especially the continued evolution of the area.”
In the time since we opened our first business Downtown, we have seen a huge redevelopment push from the City of Ocala, Downtown Business Alliance, Feel Down Town, and some other entities that has truly helped us thrive in a tough economy. At our original business, Pi on Broadway, we see a huge impact from the events Downtown. We can easily have a 25% increase in sales for the particular night. Year over year we have seen a steady 15-20% percent growth rate. A large factor behind this is the close knit support group of Downtown businesses and the City of Ocala’s efforts to help Downtown thrive. Thanks to all the supporting crew and cast! Your efforts are not unnoticed!
