All roads lead to downtown Ocala. If you’re coming in from Interstate 95, take State Road 40 west through the Ocala National Forest and into Ocala where the road becomes Silver Springs Boulevard. As you pass Northeast 8th Avenue you’re entering the downtown area. You can turn left on South Magnolia Avenue, which borders the Ocala Downtown Square.

From Interstate 75, make your way to downtown via State Road 200 or State Road 40. Head east on State Road 200 and drive about three miles. After you cross the large intersection at US 301/441, you’ll notice the road curves and turns into Southeast First Avenue. That’s what locals call “The S Curve.” Follow the curve and this will take you into downtown Ocala. Coming from I-75 on State Road 40, you’ll head east and continue past US 301/441 and take a right turn on South Magnolia Avenue.

Downtown Parking oversees 291 parking spaces throughout the Downtown Ocala area. Of those, 186 are lease spaces spread over five different lots, and 63 are metered spaces, some of which are in lots and some on the streets. The Concord Lot Meters cost a Nickel for 12 minutes, a Dime for 24 minutes and a Quarter for an hour. The Downtown Square meters cost a Nickel for 6 minutes, a Dime for 12 minutes and a Quarter for 30 minutes with an hour at Fifty cents.

There are 29 parking spaces Downtown that are free with a two-hour time limit. Downtown Parking Officers strictly enforce the reserved lease spaces, the meters, the 2 hour time limits, and all parking codes. If you are ticketed you can pay your ticket at the drive-thru or lobby of the Citizen Service Center at 201 SE 3rd Street, by mail as directed on the ticket, or online.

Bicycling is welcome and accommodated in downtown Ocala. You can park your bike at any of the locking stations in the area. Bicycles can also be loaded onto SunTran buses.

YES! Downtown’s many festivals and events are suitable for the whole family! There’s always some kind of festival or event going on almost every month, but some of the most popular include Light Up Ocala, Santa on the Square, First Friday Art Walk, O’Cala St. Patrick’s Day Festival, Ocala Cultural Festival, Red, White and Blues Fest and more!

Children will enjoy seeing the five horse statues on Ocala’s Downtown Square that are part of the Horse Fever public art project. All restaurants are family friendly, too. Kids of all ages like the ice cream and chocolates at Ocala’s Chocolates & Confections.

Just across Silver Springs Boulevard , you’ll find Tuscawilla Park with its beautiful pond, sidewalks, playground and picnic areas, and the Discovery Center. And coming soon will be the new Citizen’s Circle and interactive splash pad in front of City Hall along Osceola Avenue.
